B i o g r a p h y

As a versatile pianist, I-Hsuan has enjoyed performing works ranging from Scarlatti to Beethoven to Messiaen. Equally adept as a collaborative pianist, she also enjoys chamber music and is often sought after as accompanist for singers, and has given a number of recitals both as a soloist and accompanist during her time in the UK. Recent performances include Edward Brooks English Song Prize with Elouise Waterhouse , a solo recital in Emmanuel Church in Cambridge, and as a pianist for Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire conducted by Julian Jacobson in the Crescent Theatre for an all-Schoenberg programme.

 

 

After graduating from the University of Taipei under the tutelage of Professor Pei-Chun Liao, I-Hsuan is currently pursuing her music education at Birmingham Conservatoire with Professors Julian Jacobson and Philip Martin. She has completed her Master’s Degree in Music with distinction, and is now enrolled in the Conservatoire’s flagship Advanced Postgraduate Diploma programme.

 

 

I-Hsuan has also participated in many competitions, and successes include first prize in Taiwan Music Competition in Hsinchu (2009), and top awards in the National Student Music Competition in Taiwan.

She has also participated in various masterclasses held by Ning An, Vitaly Berzon, Wei-Yi Yang, Jian Li, Philip Fisher, Mikhail Kazakevich, Martin Jones,​ Colin Stone, Orit WolfChristian Blackshaw, Roustem Saitkouvslav and Peter Donohoe.
